J. David Schmidt, Jr.

J. David Schmidt is founder and president, for 23 years, of a Wheaton-based management consulting firm that specializes in strategic planning, organizational development, and research for non profit organizations and ministries.

David holds a Master’s degree in International (cross-cultural) Marketing Communications from Wheaton College and a Bachelors Degree from Nyack College. In addition to regular speaking engagements, including workshops at Willow Creek Community Church, he has authored numerous articles related to non profit management. He has been named as one of the top 15 presenters at Christian Stewardship Association conferences. David has written 5 books for teenagers that have sold over 200,000 copies.
With a grant from The Lilly Endowment, Choosing to Live was written by David in 1996 to help denominations face the challenge of changing stewardship dynamics. His most recent book
The Prospering Parachurch, was published by Jossey-Bass Publishers, and co-authored with Dr. Wesley K. Wilmer.

In his spare time, David enjoys running, wilderness hiking, and spending time with his wife and two children, Kelly, age 11, and Kevin, age 9.
